There were plenty of sisters over the years, falling both under a ‘littermates’ heading, and a ‘big sister, little sister’ heading. Some sisters were loners, growing up with no particularly close family bonds, and some stuck together as they matured.
Today we focus on sisters who were littermates and remained close as they matured. Most kittens remained in family groups for their first few months, exploring with their littermates, learning about the big wide world together. But after a few months and as they became less kittens and more young adults, they started adventuring on their own, still coming together at meal times and to sleep, but becoming more and more independent as the weeks passed.
Despite this, some siblings still stuck together, in particular females who were more likely to remain bonded than males.
The cats featured today are descended from The Cat, Visitor Cat, and Twilight, all fiercely independent feral loners who were rarely spotted with females from outside their own family group.
Firstly, The Cat’s daughters Fleckle and Drip exploring the vine in the garden together.

And again, The Cat’s daughters, this time Ratchet and Sprocket who were having their first taste of treats in the front path (joined by The Cat who didn’t want to miss out on anything, as you can see from the guest appearance by The Cat’s tail).

The Cat’s daughters Big Bang and Prince (who was female despite her name), thinking about scaling the vine. The Cat’s kittens had been raised in a colony together with Sprocket’s kittens, but there did seem to be a familial bond between certain of their offspring as though they realised that they were siblings.

Twilight’s daughters Dawn and Dusk on sentry duty, Dawn looking out over the field and Dusk the drive.

Visitor Cat’s twin daughters Cheese and Cracker sharing a box in the garden. While they grew apart as they matured, they formed a strong family group with their brother T for the first weeks and months after they came to the garden.

Visitor Cat’s daughters Fennel and She-ba exploring the drive and wall. Despite coming to the garden to eat, they remained happiest out in the fields.

She-ba’s daughters (and Visitor Cat’s grand-daughters) Lychee and Mini on the veranda. Despite their very different personalities and the fact that Lychee never enjoyed good health or grew very big, they remained strongly bonded.

While very few sisters stuck together forever, these here remained bonded for a lot longer than most, which set them apart.
