When kittens started weaning, they were happy to try both wet and dry food – basically whatever they saw their mothers eating. Pretty quickly however, they developed their own tastes for different flavours and textures.

In addition to wet and dry food, there was occasionally pâté, which was much more expensive to buy, and, although many of the adult cats would happily have lived on pâté, it was generally more of a special treat in addition to the normal everyday tins of wet food, and kibble/dry food.

Sometimes, kittens managed to push their way into a bowl containing pate, and a few of them instantly fell in love with it. It was probably a little rich for them so a large quantity might not have been such a healthy choice, but with its strong smell and coarse texture, it really appealed to a few.

And, in these cases, the humans would jokingly tell the kittens that, if they wanted to dine royally on pâté, the kittens would have to get a Saturday job and earn some pocket money to pay for their expensive life choices.

So when the humans spotted these cat foods, their first thought was that the kittens had done exactly that – they’d taken up modelling for cat food companies to earn some extra pocket money. The likenesses were uncanny, and we were surprised that Mini and Whitefur had managed to keep their modelling careers a secret from everyone.
