A glimpse into The Cat’s life in the garden during April shows The Cat herself either looking after kittens or relaxing. There was a relaxed atmosphere in the garden; the cats were enjoying the gentle warmth of the spring sunshine before the summer arrived with its hot weather.
Today, here are four photos of The Cat in the garden in April showing her relaxing with her family. These photos span seven years, from when Ana Half-Tail was still in residence to just a few weeks before we lost The Cat.
While The Cat divided her time between the fields and the garden, Ana only returned to the garden to eat and sleep. He always sought out his mother and they continued to enjoy each other’s company.

The next photo show The Cat and her daughter Sprocket taking a short break from looking after their kittens. They had both had their litters within a few days of each other and combined them into one colony, cared for by both mothers. Pedal was their guardian and protector.

The following year, The Cat again gave birth in the garden. Whitefur, Greyfur and Blackfur were a happy little family and The Cat, as usual, was enjoying motherhood with her little brood.

The last photo was taken only a few weeks before we lost The Cat. It shows her and her grand-daughter Calypso napping under a citrus tree. Of all her grand-kittens, Calypso (who had a bit of a wild-child reputation) was the closest to her and they were often spotted together.
