In later years, some of the Garden Family kittens received surnames (or family names); this was useful for identification, and helped the humans keep track of family trees.
During the first year of surnames, four mothers were in the garden with their kittens for weaning.
The first was Flora with her daughter Souci. Flora’s surname was Fourpaws, which was passed down to Souci.

Next was Cracker whose kittens were called The Buns (Clover, Dandelion and Daisy Bun)…

…followed by Storm whose son Tumbleweed took Storm’s family name, Furriquin.

Flora had another litter later in the year but, as Souci might have had her own kittens in the future who would take the Fourpaws family name, Flora’s new kittens were called The Florettes.

And then there were She-ba’s kittens Mini and Lychee; due to She-ba’s shyness, they spent a lot of their time as kittens in the field and were given the family name The Nearbys.

Mini was very like her mother, but Lychee was orange, and one of the few female orange cats in the Garden Family.
