Moving on to Life With The Cat, Year 3.
The Cat, although still wary, had become a lot more relaxed around the humans and was spending more time in the drive and the garden. Although she did not allow us to come too close to her, she was less nervous around us that she had been.

Ana was still the dominant male in the garden although more feral cats from the fields were starting to visit in search of food, which meant Ana having to defend his territory. He started going further afield, disappearing for days at a time. When he returned, he spent time with his mother before heading back out into the fields. It was impossible to tell whether The Cat actually missed her son when he was out and about adventuring, but the fact that they sought each other out on his return and then spent time together would indicate that maybe they both missed each other to some degree.

This year, The Cat became mother to Fickle, Fred, Fleckle and Drip and brought them to the garden for weaning; it was a safe place for a family and reflected The Cat’s more relaxed attitude to the humans.

Slowly but surely The Cat was learning to trust the humans.
