Sniffly Cat arrived one month after Visitor Cat. They both came from the direction of another garden across the fields where cats were also fed.
Sniffly was a sweet cat, very mild-mannered but never friendly. By the following year she had relaxed enough to eat with humans nearby, but that was as friendly as she got.
These photos were all taken on the same day; maybe it was the first day she visited, or maybe she had come previously during the night – but this was the first time we had observed her progress through the garden in search of food.
And maybe these were her thoughts…
Hmm – is this the garden where the food is? One of my friends at the other garden said she came here to eat, and the food was really good.

That’s a handy plant ledge – and a plastic crate to jump onto as well. They’ve thought of everything here – I hope the food is as good as my first impressions!

Far be it from me to talk with my mouth full, but I have to say Visitor was right – the food here is excellent. Wet and dry, served separately in nice clean bowls, and fresh water too – and not placed right next to the food. That’s something I don’t like.

Thank you, humans. I know they say feral cats always leave something in the bowl in case another feral comes to eat, but I’m afraid it was just too tasty. I’ve cleaned the bowl – no need to wash it. You’re welcome!

Well, I’ll definitely be back. I’ll leave a positive review on Snack Advisor, but I might hang back on telling my friends from the other garden, otherwise there’ll be nothing left for me.
