Looking after outdoor cats can bring more than its fair share of heartbreak and tears, but, even in the middle of the worst of times, cats have the knack of making us smile and laugh out loud, making us thankful for the good times and giving us happy memories to look back on.

Here are six cats who created photo opportunities which are as amusing today as they were at the time – hope you enjoy them too.

And I’m sure the cover photo showed Moonstruck, but when I double-checked, there appeared to be definitely no cat whatsoever.
