Autumn seemed to be a relaxing time for the cats. The intense heat of the summer had passed and the cold, windy and damp winter weather had not yet arrived. It was time for the cats to enjoy the warmth of the sun, eat lots of food to put weight on for the winter, and reinforce friendships.

So here are five photos of the final November in The Cat’s Garden, just random shots of different members of The Garden Family at this time of year.

1. On the left is Swift, Flora’s daughter (and hence The Cat’s grand-daughter). Top right is Sherpa (Dawn’s son) with Moonstruck (She-ba’s daughter) in the middle, and Pascha at the bottom. Pascha was The Cat’s great-grandson, being the son of Pippin who was one of Flora’s daughters (so technically, Swift was Pascha’s aunt).

2. Dawn (adult daughter of Twilight) striding out at the front, watched by Dandy Grey (back left) who was Swift’s brother (and Flora’s son, and hence a grandson of The Cat). Left to right of the other cats are Moonstruck, then Linnet, and Raven (on the box). Linnet and Raven were Dawn’s daughter and son, brought to the garden by their mother for weaning as kittens.

3. Clockwise from top left are Dawn, Checkers (who was Swift and Dandy Grey’s brother and Flora’s son, and hence a grandson of The Cat), Cheese (adult daughter of the late Visitor Cat), and Dandy Grey.

4. Bottom left to top right are Sherpa, Raven, Linnet, Checkers and Moonstruck.

5. Bottom left to top right are Moonstruck, Sundown (She-ba’s daughter and sister to Moonstruck), Mini (big sister to Sundown and Moonstruck, and an older daughter of She-ba), Dandy Grey and Flora (The Cat’s daughter).

The header photo shows litter-mates Raven and Linnet doing fisticuffs.

Hope that’s all clear – there will be questions later 😅 – I really need to make a family tree for the cats we used to look after.
